Coastal flavour shore to please

Showcasing a modern take on coastal design, the inspiration for The Beach House from Residential Building WA was the natural beauty of the Western Australian shoreline, and the builder has fulfilled the vision in spades.

Residential Building WA’s newest display feels relaxed, warm and refreshing, like a lazy day on the warm beach sands framing the Indian Ocean.

Flooded with natural light, the elegant entryway leads to a functional layout where each space transitions seamlessly.

A theatre room to the immediate left is sure to be the setting for many movie nights, while an office close by allows the chance to work in peace and quiet.

According to Residential Building WA’s Design Manager Kristan Bailey, the closely linked living areas allow plenty of room for the family to grow.

“Our priority when designing this home was to give everyone their own private space whilst still remaining connected to the hub of the home – the kitchen,” he said.

Here, some clever design has concealed the laundry and scullery behind modern cabinetry to provide an aesthetically pleasing and clutter-free space.

Directly in front of the kitchen is an expansive open-plan family and dining area with light timber flooring. An entertainer’s delight, this airy and serene part of the house will be the envy of your friends and family.

Blurring the lines between the indoors and the outdoors, a well-connected alfresco with dark timber decking is a simple yet tranquil space where it would be easy to imagine reading a book or sipping a coffee. An optional outdoor kitchen to cook in during summer would be a handy inclusion on a warm summer night.

The children’s retreat is at the back of the home. All three generously-sized bedrooms have built-in robes.

The parents’ sanctuary is upstairs and has a private lounge which opens onto a large balcony boasting views to the street and beyond. Completing the upper level is an open-plan master bedroom, walk-in robe, ensuite with double vanity and double shower.

“In this family home, style and relaxed coastal living come together to give you and your loved ones the perfect place to unwind, entertain and enjoy life,” Mr Bailey said.

The display is located in Mindarie and is open for viewing Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-5pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm.
